Police: Man Found With Meth, Pot

Yavapai County sheriff's deputies arrested a Phoenix man on charges of possession of dangerous drugs and possession of drug paraphernalia on Sunday.

According to the sheriff's office, a deputy discovered 39-year-old Ronald Burton sitting behind the wheel in his truck backed up to a hill alongside highway 89A, just outside of Prescott Valley.

The deputy stopped to check on Burton, who claimed he was just resting.

YCSO said that while the deputy was speaking with Burton, he observed a rolled-up $5 bill inside the truck.

The deputy questioned Burton about the bill and asked to inspect it. When he unrolled the bill, the deputy said he discovered a white powdery residue.

Burton was taken into custody and charged with possession of drug paraphernalia.

A search of his truck revealed a small bag of methamphetamine was hidden beneath the driver's seat and a credit card with white powder residue was located on top of the center console of the truck, deputies said.

Authorities said that along with the methamphetamine, the deputy found a marijuana cigarette in the ashtray and a plastic film canister containing marijuana on the floorboards.
