Arpaio Launches KJOE Radio

PHOENIX -- Inmates at the Fourth Avenue Jail are getting a new form of entertainment.Sheriff Joe Arpaio's new radio station, KJOE, was scheduled to make its programming debut at noon Monday from a basement studio at the jail.Arpaio said the programming is intended to educate, inform and entertain the inmates."Everybody deserves the chance to grow in mind and spirit -- even inmates," Arpaio said in a news release.KJOE will play four hours a day, five days a week and will feature music styles ranging from Frank Sinatra, operas and patriotic songs to modern music free of obscenities. The station will also provide educational programming with topics including prostate cancer, organ donation and relaxation and meditation techniques.KNIX personalities Tim and Willy were scheduled to take part in Monday's debut show.
