Position Summary: Supervise and manage the day-to-day operation of the news department. Establish editorial policy and style for news programs. This position is responsible for news program content. AS a result, this position has direct impact on ratings and revenue in designated time periods. This position has direct daily contact with KPHO’s internal and external customers.
Minimum requirements: *all must be met to be considered.
Education: College degree preferred. High School Diploma or equivalent required.
Experience: At least 5 years experience as a commercial television news director or commensurate experience.
Specific Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Must combine superb journalism background with knowledge of today’s highly competitive world. Knowledge of ratings and demos. Superb news judgment. Excellent leader. Experience coaching news personnel. Strong negotiating skills. Must be a great communicator with excellent people skills.
