Actress Salma Hayek has called off her engagement to her French billionaire fiance."We are sad to announce the engagement of Salma Hayek and Francois-Henri Pinault has been canceled," said Hayek's publicist, Cari Ross, in a statement.Ross said that there would be no further comment.Hayek and Pinault, the CEO of a luxury goods company, had been engaged for 16 months.
They had welcomed their first daughter, Valentina Paloma, last September.Hayek, 41, was nominated for a Best Actress Oscar for "Frida," and has starred in such films as "Desperado," "Once Upon a Time in Mexico," "Dogma" and most recently, "Across the Universe."She also is the executive producer of the sitcom "Ugly Betty."
