In Fact, She's Not Posing At All

POSTED: 12:09 p.m. EST December 14, 2001

Singer Britney Spears isn't about to bear it all for anybody.

Britney SpearsAccording to Variety, Spears' publicist and the People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals said the singer will not pose nude for a poster for a PETA anti-fur campaign, as reported by several news organizations Thursday.

In fact, Spears will not pose for a poster with her clothes on.

According to her publicist and PETA, Spears had once considered providing a photo of herself fully clothed for a PETA poster at the popular New York nightclub Centro Fly.

The motivation was to promote the club's new policy of refusing entry to patrons wearing fur.

PETA criticized Spears' performance at the MTV Awards, where she appeared with a caged tiger on stage. Spears has since stopped using live animals in her act.

Known as the "I'd Rather Go Naked Than Wear Fur" campaign, several celebrities have posed for PETA in the past, including Pamela Anderson, Kim Basinger and supermodel Christy Turlington.
