Phoenix Libraries To Adopt New Hours

Though no Phoenix Public Library facilities will shut their doors permanently, the new city budget dictates that some facilities will be closed one or two days per week beginning in early April, Phoenix Public Library system announced in a news release Wednesday.

General Library Hours
(Note: Some libraries closed certain days)
Monday9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Tuesday11 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Wednesday11 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Thursday11 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Friday9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Saturday9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Sunday1 p.m. to 5 p.m.

Starting April 5, Cesar Chavez, Cholla, Ironwood, Juniper, Mesquite, Palo Verde and Saguaro libraries will be closed on Fridays.

Acacia, Agave, Century, Desert Broom, Desert Sage, Harmon Ocotillo and Yucca libraries will be closed on Sundays and Mondays.

The Burton Barr Central Library will remain open seven days per week; however, it will limit some services, such as the accessibility center.

The accessibility center, which provides materials for customers with disabilities, will be available by appointment only.
